Our Service

Before You Pay Review

Contractor Quote & Scope Review • a written review of your contractor quote before you sign or pay a deposit.

What is the Before You Pay Review?

The Before You Pay Review is an owner-side contractor quote review service. You send us your contractor quote or proposal, along with photos, messages, and project goals. We review everything carefully and send you a detailed written report • typically within 24 to 48 hours.

The report identifies what is clear, what is missing or vague, what payment terms to scrutinize, and what questions to ask your contractor before you sign anything or pay a deposit.

This is owner-side support • you get an organized, outside perspective on your quote before you commit.

What We Check

Every review covers the key areas most people miss.

01

Scope of Work

Is the work described clearly enough to hold the contractor to? Are tasks vague or missing?

02

Material Details

Are specific materials, brands, or grades listed? Vague materials leave room for substitution.

03

Payment Schedule

Are payments tied to milestones or completion stages? Or are large amounts due upfront?

04

Deposit Amount

Is the deposit reasonable for the project type? What are the terms if the project does not proceed?

05

Timeline

Is there a start date, completion estimate, or any schedule commitments stated in the quote?

06

Permit Responsibility

Who is responsible for obtaining permits? Is this clearly stated, or left ambiguous?

07

Warranty Details

Is there a workmanship warranty? What does it cover and for how long?

08

Cleanup & Disposal

Who handles site cleanup and debris disposal? Is this included or a separate cost?

09

Change-Order Process

How are changes to the scope or price handled? Is there a written process or approval requirement?

10

Vague or Missing Wording

Language that is open to interpretation can become a dispute. We flag anything that needs clarification.
